This week you should mostly be listening to…

THE MACCABEES

“They chose the name by flicking through books. The biggest in the house was The Bible. They came across the story of The Maccabees, Jewish rebels who fought against Greek rule and established Jewish independence in the second century B.C. As soon as they saw the name, they knew that was it. But it’s only a name. They’re not a religious band.”

The Maccbees released they’re debut album, Colour It In, yesterday so I figured now was a good time for this post. There isn’t much to say about the band that hasn’t already been said. They are quite the popular bunch of boys over in they’re home soil of the U.K but I still feel like not enough heads know about them on this side of the river. I love them. So here ya go. The Maccabees. They play they’re first Irish date at this year’s Oxegen festival (which is only 53 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, 50 seconds and 152 milliseconds away at the time of writing)

They’re so good!! I caught them at Oxegen last year and they blew me away and have seen them another 4-5 times since and they’re always rediculously good! Playing Great Escape too!!
