I’ve decided to blog about the MTV VMAs.

It all started when 1 minute after Britney started and she was so shit that I thought I’d blog…. then I thought I might actually watch the show. Here goes… after the jump!

I’m compelled to blog as I half watch Britney and her much hyped MTV VMA comeback performance.

The whole thing is terrible. She looks more Hulk Hogans daughter. She isn’t even able to lip sync in time anymore. Her dancing was pretty shitty too. I’ll leave it.

It’s been taken off YouTube so bad luck if you actually want to watch the train wreck.

But the girl presenting the show is funny! I might watch the whole thing and live blog the European broadcast even though it’s all 18 hours behind! Her name is Sarah Silverman! She’s good.

*All nominees were pretty crap* although Rihanna is about the best of a bad bunch. I would have accepted Plain White Ts as winners too.

Kanye is performing Stronger now! It looks like quite the party. It’s in one of the suites in the Palms hotel in Vegas… they cut it after 90 seconds… and cut to…
Mark Ronson and his band with that Akon guy who did that “Smack That” song for 30 seconds.

Quadruple Threat of the Year Award: It seems to just be a reward for who’s got the biggest profile and who has ther best side projects…. It went to Justin!

Now they’re showing a few minutes of Fall Out Boy folllwed by a bit of Foo Fighters (with Pat Smear!!!) - That Foo Fighters single is really growing on me. They were great a few weeks ago at Marley Park. I forgot how good they were live. They must be playing MCD’s tent in Phoenix Park too.
I also like that so far when they’ve filled 15 seconds with music they’ve used either Justice or The Cribs. Nice MTV - doing something right for once.

Earth Shattering Collaberation goes to Beyonce and Shakira. I didn’t even know they did a song together so it must have been too earth shattering!

There’s an ad break, again, and I’m thinking that The Wombats and The Holloways are on in The Village now. I’ve seen The Holloways twice. Once supporting the always amazing CSS in Brussels and then a few weeks later at Brighton’s Great Escape festival at 3am after Foals.

This MTV thing is back… some black dude is rapping somehere. Justin Timberlake is watching…. SCREAM!! It’s T.I. they’ve just said. I know very little about hip-hop.

Now Chris Brown is playing….he’s good! And then Rihanna played for a while… then some other hip hop people played. I got a phone call some stopped watching.

The girls from The Hills are presenting “Male Artist of the Year” and it goes to…. probably Justin…

Timbaland is going up on stage with him. Now he’s talking.
Justin is bigging up Chris Brown.

Cee-Lo (of Gnarles Berkley fame) with the Foo Fighters followed by 50 Cent playing with Justin and Timbaland fill another few minutes. Both look fun. These are away from the main auditorium which must be pretty boring when most performances are from hotel suites.

After another ad break Pamela Anderson has introduced Kanye West again. He’s still good. It looks so good and I want to stay in the suite that they’re in!

Kanye got to play a full song then they cut to Fall Out Boy with some guys from Panic At The Disco and some hip-hop dudes. Then it’s on to Rain nightclub at The Palms for Timbaland for 30 seconds and then Linkin Park who are playing their new single which is actually pretty solid!!

The Entourage guys are now presenting Best Group and it goes to:
Fall Out Boy…. and now they’re back to Foo Fighters with the singer from System of a Down. They’re doing a Dead Kennedy’s song. That’s got to be a first for an MTV show.

Rihanna with Fall Out Boy as her band for Shut Up and Drive. It works for the 90 seconds MTV gave it.

Nelly just introduced Alicia Keys. She’s playing on top of a table in the main room. It’s a bit of a shame that her stylist should be sacked!!! Song is boring too… Until she started doing a cover of George Michael’s Freedom. Her hair is outrageous though. Outrageously BAD!! Shoot the stylist.

50 Cent is doing In The Club…. his new album must not have any good songs. I’ve already bought Kanye’s. Midnight last night I was on iTunes and I hit that shit.

Mark Ronson got another 20 seconds. Then Miss Teen South Carolina got 30 seconds to take the piss out of herself.

Dr Dre is introduced by Mary J Blige so he can present the winner of Video of the Year to….

Ad break over and now Justin, Timbaland, and Nelly Furtado are going to do some sort of special mini set thing. Miss Furtado is doing things right!! She looks hot too - and not exactly Canadian either. Is that relevent?
